On arrival at the HOMESTEAD, as you come through the gate up the treelined driveway, look out for Barry, the resident Koala, and the cows on the nearby paddock, who curiously greet the visitors. You’ll be able to drive up directly to the Homestead and park your car under cover, right near the entrance, for easy unpacking.
The Homestead features all the essential conveniences and some little luxuries for a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable stay. There are 3 separate bedrooms that sleep up to 10 people in total. The Homestead is ideal for two couples and up to 6 singles/children – all beautifully styled and featuring lovely fresh linen, pillows, doonas, and blankets for your comfort. Two of the three bedrooms feature queen-sized beds and a third large bedroom has custom-made inbuilt bunk beds for 4 singles / children, with additional 2 pull out trundle beds under the bunks. (If you are staying with a little one, a portacot and highchair are also available on request.)
The separate modern bathroom has a toilet, bathtub with shower and vanity, with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hairdryer provided for your convenience.
Enjoy and relax in the spacious living room, lounging on luxurious leather couch or tucked up with a book on the cosy daybed by the log fire. The adjoining kitchen is fully renovated and is equipped with a full sized fridge, coffee machine, kettle, chef-style cooktop and oven, full set of tableware and all the pots/pans for to cook up a storm for your loved ones. The dining area features a beautiful reclaimed wood dining table for sharing meals or enjoying the boards games provided for your leisure. If you decide to head out for a meal, make your way down to Apollo Bay or Forrest to one of the local eateries (see our recommendations) for a fabulous country fair.
Enjoy the sunshine on the beautiful wooden deck facing the lush garden with mature trees… or settle in for an outdoor lunch under the shelter of the pergola, where you can enjoy the Otways breeze and watch the birdlife that comes to feed at the birdhouse.
TV and wifi in the lounge room and in the bunk bedroom are provided for your convenience, but many choose to “disconnect to reconnect” with themselves, each other and the spectacular nature at The Source, Otways. You may also enjoy some games and books at the Homestead and there is plenty of firewood ready for your stay. There is a heater in every rom for those particularly chilly nights, and air fans for the hotter Otways days.
You will also find a washing machine and dryer in the fully equipped separate laundry, should you need to freshen things up after a day out in the countryside and rainforest. And if there is anything else you require to make your stay more enjoyable, please feel welcome to ask.
There is just so much here to explore at The Source, Otways!
Book HereAt the COTTAGE you will find a comfortable getaway with spectacular rainforest and waterfall adventures on totally private land.
On arrival, as you come through the gate up the treelined driveway, look out for Barry, the resident Koala, and the cows on the nearby paddock, who curiously greet the visitors. You’ll be able to drive up directly to the Cottage and park your car right near the entrance, for easy unpacking.
Your Cottage features two separate bedrooms – one with Queen-sized bed, another with two single beds (a 3rd single foldout bed is available in the living room) – with lovely fresh linen, pillows, doonas, and blankets. The separate modern bathroom has a toilet, spacious shower and vanity, with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hairdryer provided for your convenience. Enjoy and relax on the cosy couches by the log fire in your living area, or sit at the dining table to enjoy a meal or play a game.
Although there is no kitchen in the Cottage, you are welcome to enjoy the outdoor gas BBQ as well as the tae and coffee making facilities, or alternatively, make your way to one of the local eateries for a fabulous country fair.
There is full Telstra phone reception, but no wifi / TV as our philosophy is “less screen, more green” and we invite our guest to “disconnect to reconnect” with themselves, each other and the spectacular nature at The Source, Otways. You may also enjoy some games and books provided for you in the Cottage and there is plenty of firewood ready for you to enjoy the cosy logfire. There is also a heater for those particularly chilly winter nights, and an air conditioner for the hotter days.
If you are staying with a little one, a portacot and a high chair are available on request. If you have a four-legged child, a doggie guest is welcome at an additional fee and with agreement for the doggie to be on leash at all times as there are many farm and wild animals and birds on the land.
And if there is anything else you require to make your stay more enjoyable, please feel welcome to ask.
We look forward to making your stay comfortable, enjoyable and memorable!

Have you seen those whales way down there – not sure what the humans see in those big lumps in the sea – I’m never allowed to go and check them out! Great place for checking out the Pet friendly accommodation on the Great Ocean Road there though, they say.

Where else would you want to go? I don’t know why we don’t just live there. My humans and I head down every chance we get – they love to surf. Me, I bite waves. They just keep coming at ya! Tiring though. Mum’s always on the lookout for some great Great Ocean Road Pet Friendly Accommodation, so we can stay longer. Coz HEY – they wouldn’t leave me behind! Besides, I look so great in all the Insta posts! Sometimes it’s cottages, sometimes B&B’s. We even take the tent and camp in one of the caravan parks right over the dunes from the beach! We’ve all got our favourite Pet Friendly Accommodation on the Great Ocean Road picks – me, I go for the ones with the big dog beds and home made treats! Just sayin’. There are some amazing Dog Friendly Accommodation on the Great Ocean Road – holiday homes & apartments that are just great for checking out the surf from the balcony while you wait for the snags to cook on the barbie. Did I mention snags? Where was I? Oh yeah – cruising down the coast, stopping into Wye River for a drink and explore. On to Skenes Creek and Apollo Bay – where I am allowed into the pub too! Even got my picture on the wall of fame there! The Great Ocean Road Dog Friendly Accommodation down there is SWEET. And just up the road, Paradise! Heading on down to mooch around at Cape Otway (those koalas are just too high up the trees to be that interesting), and on to the 12 Apostles. Funny right – twelve! I can only see about five. Whatever. Then down to our latest find on Great Ocean Road Pet Friendly Accommodation at Port Campbell. Only minutes from the best ice cream in the world at Timboon – did I mention they have special ice cream for dogs???? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
OTWAYS HINTERLAND PET FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATION – More and more people are traveling with their beloved dogs. We get that absolutely…lots of dog lovers here in the Otways Hinterland! After all, our pets are as much a part of the family as everyone else – right? The Otways Hinterland offers a wealth of truly pet friendly accommodation and visitor experiences. While much of the hinterland is covered by National Park, there is also plenty of State Park where dogs are welcome. Many of our cafes, wineries and other great experiences are pet friendly – in fact, you may well find an enthusiastic four-legged welcoming committee at quite a number of them! Bringing your dog along can add a bit of complication to a great holiday…unless of course you can find accommodation which is genuinely pet friendly. Good thing you have found yourself here then, as there are many such sensational places of dog loving retreat here in the Otways Hinterland Pet friendly accommodation. Bush land cottages and cabins, rural and township based bed and breakfasts, apartments and villas and more are spread across the hinterland. So much better to enjoy a break away with the entire family. WOOF. I think Banjo agrees.
